About Us

Who are we?

Our small group of retirees was formed in July of 2007, and is comprised of an Executive Committee consisting of a Chair, Vice-Chair and Special Events Coordinator along with members from the OPS Ottawa retiree community.

The purpose, objective and mandate of our committee is to create an environment with specific tools where OPS retirees from the Ottawa Region can:

  • Stay connected with each other and their specific ministries/agencies;
  • Share news and ideas;
  • Volunteer to actively support various charitable organizations such as the United Way and Federated Health;
  • Participate in and help organize Ottawa-based retiree events such as Volunteer Recognition Programs;
  • Assist in organizing government sponsored special events;
  • Offer information sessions that may be of special interest to our unique group;
  • Meet and /or keep in contact with other retirees; and
  • Arrange fun activities and events.

Our group was officially launched on October 24th, 2007, in conjunction with the Ottawa OPS Retiree Information and Learning event sponsored by the Ottawa Interministerial Council and the Quarter Century Club.
